The Joy of Serving the LORD

“I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you. LORD… keep their hearts loyal to you.” (1Chr 29:17-18)

You are warmly welcome!

Very soon it will come to pass that the elegant Chapel Hall Complex as it appears in the 3D impressions will be a living reality, fully completed and in use. We need to raise Ugx 200 million. In my architecture and engineering careers, we have seen may such results – once on paper, then on ground in reality; it is such a joy, and more so for those who contributed or played a part in bringing to life that project. You are welcome to share in that joy as we put efforts together for this particular one, and we can come a long way already, with just the finishes at hand, for which we are raising funds.

We continue to see the joy of serving the Lord and draw inspiration from the experiences of Biblical characters, especially King David and Apostle Paul. Common statements in the church liturgy are drawn from their confessions: “for God loves a cheerful giver” is one from 2Cor 9:7, and from 1Chr 29:11 we get a commonly used declaration that introduces the dedication of church offerings. They both point to the joy of serving the Lord.

The dinner is all more delicious when you are sharing with someone. We even have sayings in local cultures which point to the joy and social security of sharing. I just imagine: if sharing with a friend makes the meal more delicious, what about sharing it with the God himself? A great privilege and blessing it is for us to worship the Lord with what He has given us. Dear very good giver, don’t whine at this message; someone really needs it. I will be satisfied, not with the large (or sufficient) amount of money given, but with the willing response of the people who give to their best. David gave willingly and with honest intent, and the people gave willingly and with joy – what a warm fellowship it was! And upon that foundation, many other churches and noble Kingdom developments have been developed; we are now at it as well.

David’s prayer to God is very crucial, and makes the stewardship and generosity most meaningful and eternally beneficial: “keep their hearts loyal to you.” The joy in the marriage is preserved by unwavering loyalty. As the bride of Christ, we do well to love the Lord relentlessly and without wavering. Let us by all means bring the money, the gifts, the materials and all that will build this place; and let us grow our loyal devotion to God – in worship and in fellowship.

God bless you all.
