Working for the Gospel – Beyond Borders
A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” … immediately we sought to go into Macedonia (Acts 16:9-10)
During his missionary journeys, Paul actively harnesses the power of teamwork: he picks up great helps and builds a great team that propagates the gospel beyond his good personal efforts; this enabled him to go far and beyond borders with the gospel. In Acts 16, we see the young man Timothy being picked up, little knowing he will be a great pastor in future, as they traversed borders and worked perilously for the gospel! As we focus on raising funds for strengthening our online church ministry, we should be reminded that building requires team effort; it requires the participation of all who care, bringing their money, and attention. At Kakumba Chapel, it is again time to rally our efforts in this direction, responding to a real need to which we were further awakened by the recent lockdown.
We are already consistently on common social media platforms, but the consistency of our productions is not firmly guaranteed yet, and the quality needs to rise higher. Quality is the language of today’s hearer, and all that is presented to compete with gospel productions is presented in this ‘language’ – the language of quality productions. So, possessing competent recording equipment is a requirement for today’s Church. The motivation the good news of Jesus Christ - to reach more and deeper, and to equip more people to go and proclaim the same. The gospel liberates and gives life and light. Our youth and teens need deliberate gospel focus as they transition from being children to becoming adults. There has been good progress in providing online services, but we still need to do more and go beyond.
We thank God for the equipment and the team working. Thank you for your giving! There are more Kakumba Chapel Facebook Fans in the Middle East than in Busoga or Lango or even Kigezi. We need to keep them served with the gospel. We need to raise more money for more equipment. I call upon you to support these activities through your generous contributions.
This is a noble appeal just as Paul defended: “Our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive, but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts.” (1Thess 2:3-4)
Just like the man in the vision called out, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us’, there is a need that demands our response today – somewhere in Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Belgium, somewhere in Canada. Someone needs help – someone needs to hear the gospel. Join and commit to remain on the team until this task is accomplished, and it will be a great blessing.
God bless you all.
