Grow in Faith
I bow my knees before the Father, … that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power … so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith (Eph 3:14-17)
I am glad to be back to duty after one month away. I thank God for the leadership that kept the fort alive and going – especially Rev Chrysostom Akwech who as Ag. Chaplain, and the entire Council and staff that worked with him. During that season, among many activities, I had opportunity to visit the Church in Kotido and to attend a Training in Durban focusing on ministering to children through education. From each of the activities, I come with prayer needs and tasks for follow up that I will gladly enlist the support of this Church – particularly in the area of growing the Kingdom of God and being its ambassadors. Then as soon as I returned we were headed to Namugongo to celebrate Uganda Martyrs’ Day which was hosted by our own Kampala Diocese; I thank God for the great participation of Kakumba Chapel both financially and physically, specifically in the area of Praise and Worship.
As a nation and for many organizations, the year is ending; the budget has been passed and we have got the State of the Nation from the President’s speech. We are headed for the next half of the year, and many people should be doing evaluation, auditing and planning for the season ahead with anticipation for growth: It may be improving financial gains, effective resource utilization, healthy relationships at work and with stakeholders, or even better performance in academics; for others, time for school is over and job-seeking is the only point on the agenda, while many others are looking for ways to start or grow businesses. Truly, even me as I take back my seat as Chaplain, thinking of the upcoming semester and multiple schools ministry opportunities as well as the plight and needs of our younger children as a society, I am filled or even cluttered with anticipations and plans. What is your prayer?
Our meditation today is from a very important prayer that the Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians – and this should top any other matter on your list; make the need expressed in this prayer the most desired and the opening prayer item at every opportunity – ‘to be strengthened with power … so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith’, and, above all other things, this is my prayer for you beloved of the Lord.
God bless you all.
